Social bookmarking links

Including means of bookmarking or sharing pages on sites has become a rather standard component of many sites. Certainly this is true of blogs and is also quite common on countless other sites outside of that niche. This article shows a lot of great ways to style such links. Typically this involves some icon set so that the user can more rapidly make the association. I am actually on the fence regarding this element of design. You will notice this site does not make use of them; my theory here is that who wants to book mark a page that is simply a link to yet another page! Seems silly. I kind of feel like if someone wants to bookmark, tweet or other wise share a page they will do so on their own, I need not bombard them with the opportunity. All the same it is a very popular component.
